They say true love is expressed through prayer. It’s said that one of the tests of our love for someone is how often we’re willing to pray for them.
In your workplace, do you pray for those who are placed over you? Do you pray for them to be blessed so you can take a salary home? Can you pray for your enemy? Can you ask God to bless them that talk against you, ridicule you? Do you pray for your leaders and those who rule over you? If you’re married, do you pray for your spouse? Do you pray with your spouse? When you encounter conflict in your marriage, do you pray about it more than you talk about it? When you face difficult times, do you pray together until breakthrough comes?
It is said, that our relationship with God is only as strong as our prayer life. Prayer is a relationship, a conversation. A quote from Charles Spurgeon:
“True prayer is neither a mere mental exercise nor a vocal performance. It is far deeper than that — it is a spiritual transaction with the Creator of heaven and earth.”
Praying together brings unity and connectedness; Satan wants to bring division and detachment.
Praying together brings God’s truth and will into the light; Satan wants us to walk in the darkness of lies.
Praying together offers testimony to God’s faithfulness as we see our prayers being answered; Satan wants to blind us from the way God is working in our life and marriage.
Praying together is a way to partner with God; Satan tempts us to believe we don’t need God’s partnership.
Praying together keeps our lives focused and in tune with the Holy Spirit; Satan wants us to fall asleep or get distracted by something else.
Prayer is the best first line of defense when we encounter conflict, struggles and issues of the heart. It should be our go-to, not our last resort.
Pray for each other, for your family and enemies, for the Lord to guide your relationship, for your dreams and desires, for life circumstances, for growth in your knowledge of the truth, for the ability to walk in wisdom, for a heart that longs to praise God, for your discernment in decisions.
“Prayer is the gateway into genuine knowledge. It is also a way we experience change — the re-ordering of our life. Prayer makes it safe for God to give us some of the things we desire. Prayer is the key to everything we need to do, and be, in life.”
A simple way you can pray protection over your life is by praying (Ephesians 6:13-17), the armor of God over your life.
Father, thank you for your hand on our lives, I want to pray your armor over us. Would you place on our head the helmet of salvation to guard our mind and thoughts?
Place on our chest the breastplate of righteousness to guard our heart and keep it pure. Put around our waist the belt of truth to prevent any lies from creeping into our hearts and thoughts.
Keep us far from temptation. Put on our feet the sandals of peace to keep us walking bravely and courageously without fear or worry. Give us the shield of faith to trust in your ways and leading. Train us in the sword of the Spirit to fight against the fiery arrows of attack. Cover us with your full protection and armor as we enter the battlefield where ever we may go. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

|DO NOT LIMIT GOD
Do Not Limit God “Yea, they TURNED BACK and TEMPTED God, and LIMITED the Holy One of Israel.” - Psalm 78:41 (KJV)
The Hebrew word for ‘limited’ is ‘TAWAH’ meaning to ‘vex; to cause pain’. It refers to causing another person discomfort or vexation because of one’s behavior or attitude. In this case, Israel caused God to experience wounding from her unfaithfulness. It also means as indicated, ‘to limit’. It has the sense of restraining persons from what they can do because of one’s own attitudes or actions. This is akin to what Paul said about how our carnality can ‘quench’ or ‘grieve’ the Holy Spirit, thus limiting His intended. or potential work in our lives. Israel limited God, causing Him vexation and pain, such that, although He has absolute and sovereign power and wants to do good for them, He will not (not that He cannot) because of they departed from Him and His Word. The next verse indicates more definitively how they limited God. Psalm 78:42 - They did not remember His power, The day when He redeemed them from the adversary, When He performed His signs in Egypt And His marvels in the field of Zoan, When we forget God and forget His powerful miraculous ability, we limit God.
Do not limit God by:
(1) Disobedience to His Word
Forgive us, Lord, whenever we have forgotten your power and what it is able to do. Forgive us, Lord, where and whenever we have limited you in our lives.
|ROMANS 8:11-14 (MSG)|
‘It stands to reason, doesn’t it,
that if the alive-and-present
God who raised Jesus from the
dead moves into your life, he’ll
do the same thing in you that
he did in Jesus, bringing you
alive to himself? When God
lives and breathes in you (and
he does, as surely as he did in
Jesus), you are delivered from
that dead life. With his Spirit
living in you, your body will
be as alive as Christ’s! So don’t
you see that we don’t owe this
old do-it-yourself life one red
cent. There’s nothing in it for
us, nothing at all. The best
thing to do is give it a decent
burial and get on with your
new life. God’s Spirit beckons.
There are things to do and
places to go!”
